Week of 1/30/ 2023

6th Grade:

Reading- We will finish our book club packets and I will collect them on Friday. This week will will focus on character conflict and change.

Writing- Students will research an inventor. They should have their brainstorming done by Friday.

Grammar- We will complete our colon/ semicolon packet by Friday.

Social Studies- Module 4- We will read, complete guided reading notes, and answer questions over module 4. Tuesday will be a scavenger hunt to help us learn information about the formation of the UN.

7th Grade:

Writing- Greek god and goddess research

Grammar- colon/ semicolon packet

Social Studies- Module 8 Lesson 3 and 4- Ancient Greece- mythology and philosophers

8th Grade:

Writing- Paul Revere compare and contrast paragraphs

Grammar- colon/ semicolon packet

Social Studies- Module 4 The Revolutionary War- This week we will focus on The Declaration of Independence. We will complete annotations and compare the document to John Locke’s Social Contract.

Week of January 9th-13th

6th Grade Language Arts

  • There will be a vocabulary test over the Lesson 9 words on Friday.  Use the activities completed in your book and Quizlet to help them study.
  • Finish your graphic organizer for your New Year’s writing piece. Open the checklist in Google Classroom. Type and submit your writing piece on Google Classroom by Friday.

7th Grade Language Arts

    Read for 20 minutes and complete your reading record for each night. Read the attached article and answer the questions following. Make sure you reading record is signed and completed on Thursday night.

    Book Clubs- If you are absent, please be sure to read your daily pages so you do not fall behind your group. By the end of this week we will have complete the preview page, setting pages, and the question/ connection page in our packets.
